There GED Goes Again

December 21

Global Energy Decisions (GED) has acquired again, this time the Couger and GIMSplus software unit from ABB.

Most recently GED had purchased MS Gerber Ė vendor of risk analysis and forecasting tools for electric utilities. And before that, it bought Henwood Energy, Energy Velocity, AcuPower and EnerMap, all this since mid-2002.

For more info on the acquisitive GED, see our prior blurb on the subject.

ABBís Couger software models electricity generation operations while GIMPlus supports wholesale trading settlement. GED Chairman and CEO Ron McMahan plans to add these products and several others picked up in the deal to GEDís EnerPrise software line for electricity generation companies.
