SAIC Buys Security Firm Trios
Science Applications International (SAIC) said this week that it had completed its purchase -- for undisclosed terms -- of Trios Associates, developer of surveillance and communications systems for the Federal government.
As we reported last September, SAIC has been been actively growing its security business through acquisitions, most recently picking up Jullien Enterprises, a security systems integration firm specializing in complex onsite installations, again for undisclosed terms.
San Diego-based research and engineering company SAIC is fifth on Washington Technology’s 2004 Top 100 list of Federal prime contractors. The company is a giant, employing 44,000 workers and generated sales of $6.7 billion for the year ending Jan. 31.
Maryland-based Trios houses 225 employees in its Maryland and DC offices and provides engineering services to the FAA, NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
According to SAIC, Trios will now operate as the Aviation Sciences Operation division within SAIC's Space, Earth and Aviation Sciences unit.
