Platts Puts on a Show with CBI
Platts, the global energy information division of McGraw-Hill, announced this week its purchase of the energy conference business of The Center for Business Intelligence (CBI). Terms were not disclosed.
Launched in 1995, CBI’s energy division produces over 30 conferences for the energy industry each year covering topics like regulation, privatization, and development opportunities in the electric, oil and gas sectors.
Operating in 14 countries, Platts dominates the research and analyses market for the gas, oil, green energy, nuclear power, electricity, petrochemicals, and metals markets, providing newletters, websites, print publications, software and mapping products. Now, with the purchase of CBI’s energy division, it take up a substantial position in the market for energy industry conferences as well.
Following the sale of its energy division, CBI will continue its conference business in non-energy related industries.
