SAP Specialists IDS Scheer, Plaut Combine
In a move that combines the forces of two of SAPís largest global partners, IDS Scheer announced its recent takeover of the Eastern European and North American businesses of the IT consulting firm Plaut for undisclosed terms.
Plaut provides SAP integration services for capital goods, consumer-goods, retail and service industry clients in 16 countries. In 2002, the company overall employed 1,366 and generated revenues of $248 million. IDS will take over Plaut's operations in Austria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic, in addition to VAR-focused American and Canadian operations.
The deal is IDS Scheerís second SAP services acquisition this year. The company bought Groupe Experte in June, in a bid to strengthen its SAP services for mid-sized clients.
Founded in 1984, IDS Scheer offers development, operation, implementation, and evaluation of business processes to over 3,000 clients in 50 different countries. With around 1,450 employees IDS Scheer claims $204 million in revenue.
